QUICKREMIT LIMITED

REFUND AND CANCELLATION POLICY

1. PURPOSE

This Refund and Cancellation Policy explains when a Sender may cancel a Remittance, when QuickRemit may return funds, and how refunds are processed.

This Policy forms part of the QuickRemit Terms of Service.

2. CANCELLATION REQUESTS

A Sender may request the cancellation of a Transaction by contacting QuickRemit through the designated customer service channels as soon as possible after submitting the Transaction.

A request for cancellation does not, in itself, automatically cancel, recall or reverse a Transaction. Upon receiving a cancellation request, QuickRemit will assess the status of the relevant Transaction and determine whether cancellation is still operationally and legally possible.

3. TRANSACTIONS NOT YET PROCESSED

Where a Transaction has not yet been processed or transmitted to the Nigerian payment or settlement system, QuickRemit may, where operationally possible and legally permitted, cancel the Transaction and return the funds to the Sender. The cancellation and return of funds will be subject to the status of the Transaction and any applicable regulatory, compliance or processing requirements.

4. TRANSACTIONS ALREADY SENT FOR PAYMENT

Once funds have been transmitted to a Payment Partner, Nigerian bank or Beneficiary, cancellation may no longer be possible. This is because the Transaction may have already entered the payment or settlement process and may no longer be within QuickRemit's direct control.

Where a recall is requested, QuickRemit may use reasonable efforts to recover the funds, subject to the applicable procedures and cooperation of the relevant Payment Partner, Nigerian bank or Beneficiary, but does not guarantee successful recovery.

5. WRONG BENEFICIARY DETAILS

Where a Sender provides incorrect or incomplete Beneficiary information, QuickRemit will not be responsible for losses resulting from those instructions, except to the extent required by applicable law. The Sender is responsible for carefully reviewing and confirming all Beneficiary details before submitting a Transaction.

QuickRemit may attempt to recover the funds, but recovery will depend on the cooperation of the receiving bank, payment provider and/or Beneficiary and cannot be guaranteed.

6. REFUNDS FOLLOWING FAILED TRANSACTIONS

Where QuickRemit receives funds but is unable to complete the Transaction, the funds will, subject to applicable law and compliance requirements, be returned to the Sender or the original funding source. The timing of any such refund may depend on the reason for the failed Transaction and the involvement of any Payment Partner.

QuickRemit may deduct:

  • • non-recoverable third-party charges;
  • • applicable transaction charges where legally permitted; and
  • • reasonable costs incurred in connection with recovery or reversal.

  • Mandatory refunds required under applicable law will not be restricted by this Policy.

    7. COMPLIANCE-RELATED HOLDS

    Funds may be held while QuickRemit conducts:

  • • identity verification;
  • • source-of-funds checks;
  • • sanctions screening;
  • • fraud investigations;
  • • transaction monitoring; or
  • • other regulatory checks.

  • Where funds cannot legally be returned immediately, QuickRemit may be required to retain or restrict the funds until legally permitted to release them. The duration of any such hold may depend on the nature of the compliance review and any requirements imposed by the relevant regulatory authority, bank or Payment Partner.

    8. UNAUTHORISED TRANSACTIONS

    If you believe that a Transaction was unauthorised, you must notify QuickRemit without undue delay and provide sufficient information to enable us to identify and investigate the Transaction.

    You may be required to provide information and documentation to enable QuickRemit to investigate the Transaction, including details relating to the Transaction, your account or the payment method used.

    Where applicable, your statutory rights concerning unauthorised or incorrectly executed payment transactions will apply.

    9. REFUND METHOD

    Where possible, refunds will be made to the original payment method used to fund the Transaction. The refund may be subject to any applicable verification or regulatory requirements.

    QuickRemit may require additional verification before issuing a refund to ensure that the refund is made to the appropriate person and in accordance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

    Where the original payment method cannot receive the refund, QuickRemit may use another lawful method after completing appropriate verification.

    10. FOREIGN EXCHANGE

    Where a refund is made after currency conversion has occurred, the amount returned may differ from the original amount paid because of:

  • • exchange-rate movements;
  • • third-party charges;
  • • banking costs; or
  • • regulatory requirements.

  • Where applicable law requires QuickRemit to refund a specific amount, the statutory requirement will prevail.

    11. COMMERCIAL DISPUTES

    QuickRemit is a payment and remittance service provider and is not responsible for disputes concerning goods or services purchased using funds sent through the Service. QuickRemit's role is limited to processing and facilitating the relevant payment or remittance in accordance with the Sender's instructions.

    Such disputes must be resolved between the Sender and the relevant seller, Merchant or Beneficiary. Any refund arising from such a commercial dispute should be requested directly from the relevant seller, Merchant or Beneficiary.

    12. REFUND REQUESTS

    Refund requests should include:

  • • full name;
  • • Transaction reference;
  • • date of Transaction;
  • • amount;
  • • reason for the request;
  • • payment method; and
  • • any supporting documentation requested by QuickRemit.

  • QuickRemit may request additional information or documentation where reasonably necessary to verify the request, investigate the Transaction, or comply with applicable legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
